Hi!!!!! Wishing you a warm welcome to my blog page! This is the place where I will keep updates on everything from now until the race ends. I thought I’d start off by introducing myself 🙂

I’m Mackenzi Grace! I’m 17 and still will be when I graduate because my birthday is in late July. I am from Spokane, Washington, && have lived here my entire life. I live with three younger siblings (a brother and two sisters), parents that support me in all my crazy adventures, and two sweet cats plus a dog named Baxter.

Currently, I am a senior at Mead High School, but I also take college classes at Spokane Falls Community College through a program called running start.

I grew up in a christian household, but I wouldn’t say I found Jesus until my freshman year of high school. God blessed me with a few new friends after starting high school and trying out for a new soccer team. They ended up bringing me to youth group and there I met Jesus through the people who welcomed me into their lives. Since then, the community I have made in my church && that youth group have grown alongside me and my relationship with Jesus. I could not be more thankful for how God has shown up in that place. High school has been a journey of me learning what it looks like to authentically live for Jesus every day of the week.

Growing up I played soccer for 12 years of my life, but decided to leave the sport I loved after my sophomore year. What’s crazy is that God used the loss of my biggest devotion and opened up doors to new passions that I didn’t know I had. When I no longer used all of my time for training, traveling, and playing soccer, I started painting. Wow I run a painting business to help fund all my missions. I’ve now painted over 200 water bottles! If you want to check that out, the Instagram page I sell everything on is @paintforswazi!! God has poured so much of His support and provision out into my life through this account and the people that follow it. It truly blows my mind daily.

If I am not painting water bottles or water color painting in my Bible, you could probably find me hanging out with my friends, drinking an oat milk latte, editing photos as another creative outlet, or doing unwanted homework.

This past summer I was in Swaziland, Africa for a month with Adventures In Missions. My team was made up of 16 people who are now my best friends from all around the country. We have reunions as often as we can!

My favorite pair of shoes are my birkenstocks. I would describe them as apart of me at this point. I used to have a pair that were almost five years old that I wore so often they had a hole straight through the left toe. Still took them to Africa with me! I think my mom became embarrassed of me wearing such worn down shoes, so she finally bought me a new pair this year. Catch me stuffing them in my backpack for the race.

A huge reason why the World Race has such a spot on my heart is because I have NO IDEA what I want to do in life. It’s the number one question I get asked when people find out I am a senior in high school, but I never have an answer. I believe God wants me on this adventure as apart of his plan to reveal some of the passions he has given me, future plans, and dreams He wants me walking out in my life. But who knows haha! I’m ready for God to surprise me in the best ways.

Now you know a few pieces about who I am! I hope you can feel my excitement for what’s to come!!!!!
